#11 -- Dave Zinn's 1963 Tempest

(click the image to go back)

Dave assembled an AMT 1962 Pontiac Catalina engine/transmission mostly as it comes in the kit. To it he added a Mallory coil, carburetor linkages, spark plug wires, and a set of Buckeye Scale Auto Parts (BSAP) velocity stacks that he shortened to fit under his hood scoop. Those Mickey Thompson valve covers are from an AMT 1976 Chevrolet Nova kit. Dave de-chromed them and painted them with Testors Metalizer stainless steel paint, then buffed them with a Q-tip. Although they are hard to see in the above photo, the fender well headers are scratch built from aluminum tubing and solder.
