Gordon Holsinger's 1963 Le Mans Cobra

Over June 15 and 16 1963, Caroll Shelby backed a pair of 289-powered Cobras sporting hardtops and modified trunks. One of them, the #4 car carrying registration 645 CGT (CSX2142) was painted white and driven by Peter Jopp (GB) and Hugus (USA), but bowed out after 117 laps with a damaged crank and connecting rod.

The car that finished in 7th place was the #3 car carrying registration 39 PH (CSX2131) was painted British Racing Green and driven by Ninian Sanderson (GB) and Peter Bolton (GB). Of note, this car was enetered W.D. Hurdock of A.C. Motorcars and this team was managed by Sterling Moss.
